What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. It allows the site to recognise your browser and remember preferences between visits.

This policy also covers similar technologies that serve the same purpose, namely browser local storage (localStorage), which we use instead of cookies for some of the preferences below.

Essential cookies

These cookies are necessary for the basic operation of the site and cannot be disabled. They do not require prior consent under applicable law.

NEXT_LOCALE: remembers your chosen language (Portuguese or English), so you don't have to select it on every visit. Set automatically by the platform we use to build the site, and expires after one year.
theme (local storage): remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode. Kept until you clear your browser data.
cookieConsent (local storage): stores your choice on the cookie banner, so we don't ask again on every page.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Tag Manager to manage traffic-analysis tools, which help us understand how the site is used and improve it. This script only loads after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you click “Reject”, or make no choice at all, these tools are not loaded.

Data collected by these tools is processed in aggregate form, is never sold to third parties, and is not cross-referenced with personally identifiable data collected in other contexts (such as the contact form).

Advertising cookies

We do not use advertising, remarketing or third-party social-network cookies.

Managing your preferences

You can accept or reject analytics cookies in the banner shown on your first visit. To change your choice later, clear this site's browsing data in your browser settings: the banner will appear again on your next visit.

Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies directly in their privacy settings. Rejecting analytics cookies does not affect how the site works.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy whenever we change the tools used on the site. The last-updated date is always shown at the top of this page.
